Building the set

Because I've worked in building sites before I had some experience putting together beams and put myself up for putting the set together because i've got experience with wood, what woods and timbers will hold what. Knew how to brace and join L frames, what screws to use and buy etc.

We chose four panels due to trying to limit expense, the wood in total came to roughly 90 pounds, 2/3 panels and the last third soft timber to make the frames. We wanted more panels to complete the set but it would have meant at least two extra panels and more timber on top of that.

Conveniently we managed to acquire a piece of chipboard that we painted white and put a stand on made from a pallet, for shots like the TV we would need wall behind it, but we might also want wides from another angle, this moving bit of wood meant we could get more out of the set.

We put the door panels vertically, however the curtain wall we stacked the boards horizontally on top of each other, and put beams down either side, this caused them to bend less and a convenient bit of 1x1 wood down the middle covered the join in between the two pieces.

Came bag from my dad's with hinges, door knob, fitted the door. Continued working on the frame to make the entire structure more secure and level, so it doesn't wobble. Door section particularly important as we don't want the wall to wobble when the door is opened, slammed or closed, and also because people will be walking through and round that section anything insecure could lead to injury.
