Curley

Here is my design for the character which I am in charge of creating. From looking at other 'cute' characters from other films/games, a big feature which a lot of cute characters had was there clothing. So I had a good think about what would suit my character and I thought a big wooly jumper that probably belonged to his dad or Grandad. I thought this would work as seeing a small child in clothes that drown them is always something that gets attention and is always very cute. I kept the design very stylised as I felt I would have had more success with a styled character than something a lot more realistic. I gave his huge shoes compared to his body size as again it works with the style of Curley. Although I do feel if I was to give Curley small feet, the stylised feel would still be there.

I am not the biggest drawer in the world so getting things into proportion was quite difficult so i drew my front projection of Curley and then drew some lines across each main feature to allow me to get the same sizes for the side view.
