After Effects (Masks)

• Make a solid which is the same size as the composition
• You can either use masks with the pen tool or a shape tool
• When created, the area around the shape will be not visible (solid which we created)
• Mask feather will allow you to soften the edge of the mask
• Mask opacity will allow you to change how transparent you want to mask
• Mask expantion will allow you to slightly adjust the size of the mask
• Double clicking one of the tools will automatically create a mask at the correct size of the composition
• Clicking one of the points of the mask will allow you to adjust the shape of the mask
• You can key frame masks like you can any other attribute
