Unfortunately yet again, my initial idea went down the drain as my artist wasn't available for to shoot at the time I needed to. Luckily I had a backup plan which was with another artist from Manchester. We was planning on shooting this music video after so I knew i would be ok. The concept of the music video is different, which was unfortunate but with the time I had, I decided to shoot the music video in a music studio and create a nice, clean, performance music video. I chose to shoo the music video with my Canon 5d mark ii and 1 light. i did this because from my research, I found that the best way to be creative, is to use as little equipment as possible. If your not creative using a camera and a light, then the video could end up looking quite flat and boring.
This video below is by Philip Bloom. When I went to the event at the royal armouries this was one of his films which he spoke about. He filmed it on his Canon 1DC and had one light to play with. Little equipment but we never see a flat shot. He was very clever with the concept of having in in the same place in every shot but again this was simple techniques that don't cost you a penny. He had cut out the head shape and stuck it on the lcd screen of his camera. That way he would always get the head lined up correctly
Simplicity is what I want in my video but I want that simplicity to still have an impact and in general, to be aesthetically pleasing.
