VFX music video

This Tenacious D video is the closest thing I could find to what sort of thing I want to achieve. I love how the vfx creates humour in this video. That is something I want to create in my video, when the buttons are bashed, and the effect happens, I want it to be something to laugh at but in a sense of expect the unexpected.
